Drop Off/Pickup Procedures

Parking Lot Safety Instructions

THE SAFETY OF YOUR CHILDREN IS OUR MAIN CONCERN; THEREFORE, WE EXPECT EVERYONE TO ADHERE TO THE FOLLOWING PROCEDURES.

MORNING PROCEDURE          Before Care begins at 7:00;
                                             The school building opens at 7:30am.

Before Care:    Enter the parking lot at the Pennsylvania Avenue entrance. Proceed directly to the After Care building and drop off your child.

Preschool and  Kindergarten: Enter the parking lot at the Pennsylvania Avenue entrance. Park in the Preschool and Kindergarten lot. Walk your child to their classroom.
Grades 1-8:    Enter the parking lot at the Pennsylvania Avenue entrance. Proceed directly to the Convent Side entrance of school. Students are to be dropped off only in the areas marked by cones. Cars are to proceed out of the parking lot by either Roosevelt Ave. or Pennsylvania Ave. Parents/guardians are not to park their vehicle anywhere in this area during the scheduled morning drop-off time.



The school semi-circle is not to be used for drop-off.  NO ONE is to drop-off his or her children on Harrison Avenue.

 

AFTERNOON PROCEDURE        Dismissal is at 2:55pm.

Preschool: Preschool parents will receive specific instruction for dismissal at their meetings.

Grades K-8

  • Parents and guardians are to enter the parking lot using the Roosevelt Avenue entrance in front of church. 
  • For the safety of the children and all adults, all parking will be in the convent side parking lot. No one is to park in the Kindergarten parking area at dismissal time.
  • Grade K-8 car riders will be dismissed by the convent side doors only.
  • Drivers are to follow the directions of the parking lot committee members and proceed to the designated coned areas and form a line.
  • The Pennsylvania Avenue entrance has been designated as an EXIT ONLY in the afternoon.
  • Once dismissal has begun, all traffic into the parking lot will be stopped and a double parking line will be formed in front of church.
  • All children will be lined up in front of the school convent side building and a parent or approved guardian must meet the children. 
  • Once the children are in the automobiles, then the cars will be allowed to proceed out of the parking lot via the Pennsylvania Avenue exit. 
  • Parent/guardians and children should proceed immediately to their vehicle upon dismissal.
  • Making a U-turn in front of the church is not allowed.

The Kindergarten Side Lot is for emergencies only.  There is to be no parking in the Kindergarten lot

Once the first wave of traffic has left the area, the late arrivals will be allowed to enter the parking lot and the children will be dismissed according to the above procedure. 

Young children who are waiting with parents and guardians are not allowed to play in this area while cars are entering the lot or while waiting for dismissal.  This is not a playground.

REGULAR DISMISSAL

Children will be lined up outside of the Convent Side doors with their teacher.  Students are to be retrieved from their classroom line by a parent or designated guardian.  No child will be allowed to wander away from the line without a parent or designated guardian.

Children will not be dismissed to any adult parked illegally on Harrison Ave., Grant Ave., Roosevelt Ave., or in business parking lots.  Parents/guardians are required to follow the above procedures.

 

Walkers will be dismissed as a separate group according to the direction they take for their walk home.

Note:  For safety and health reasons, ALL pets are to remain in the automobiles at all times. 

 

Parent/Guardians Please Note

 Time is valued by Everyone! 

Failure to follow the above procedure is not an option.  Any parent/guardian failing to follow the above procedure will be questioned.  Continued disregard for the above procedure, disrespect toward any parking committee member, or any inappropriate behavior will be looked at as uncooperative parental support and may result in families being asked to transfer their children to another school.
