Technology

At Our Lady of Fatima our goal is for students to become comfortable and at ease using technology to enhance all aspects of their lives. Skills and concepts that students learn can be used in academic classes or at home. Our technology department collaborates with teachers across the disciplines to make lessons pertinent and exciting.
Our Lady of Fatima School has a LAN network which all staff and students have a user account to log in to the school network. This helps to instruct our students on the proper ways to utilize a networked environment.  A cable line provides high-speed internet access to the entire school for the purpose of resource and virtual on line tours in all subject areas. All classrooms have 3 PC's and one printer  for the children to use for various tasks, though some have more based on need and as space allows.  All PC's have Microsoft Office installed as well as the Accelerated Reader, Accelerated Vocabulary, and Star.
Students can access our library software automation program to research available material from any computer on the school LAN network.
Each grade has their own digital camera for the teachers/students use during classroom projects, field trips and the yearbook.
Our computer lab is equipped with 12 workstations and one teacher workstation. The lab is equipped with one color laser printer, one standard laser (networked) and a printer/scanner combination (networked) for teachers as well as students for scanning or printing of projects. Our teachers may utilize the computer lab as well for a variety of curriculum-based projects.
