First Reconciliation and First Eucharist Class of 2011/12

The requirements for Reconciliation and First Eucharist are as follows:

Our parish follows the diocesan guidelines for the reception of sacraments.  This means that all children under the age of 18 may not enroll in a sacrament program unless they have been enrolled in, and successfully attended and completed at least one full year of formal religious education classes immediately prior to the year they are eligible to be invited to enroll in the parish Reconciliation and First Eucharist preparation program. 

First Reconciliation and First Eucharist are celebrated no earlier than in Second Grade of a religious education program. No candidate may register for this sacramental program without first being either enrolled in our parish school or parish PREP program.   All candidates for these sacraments must be baptized and if the candidate was not baptized at Our Lady of Fatima, a copy of the baptismal certificate must accompany the sacrament registration form.

The First Reconciliation program is held in the Fall and consists of two meetings for parents and candidates to attend.  The sacrament is celebrated in early December.

The First Eucharist program is held in the late winter and consists of three meetings for parents and candidates to attend.  The sacrament is celebrated in the early spring, following Easter.  Dates for both programs will be posted in August, 2011

Registration for the First Reconciliation and First Eucharist class of 2012 will begin in late May.  All eligible candidates will receive an invitation to enroll for these sacramental programs.

There is a fee for sacrament programs, to cover the cost of books and supplies.  Sacrament fees are in addition to school or PREP tuitions.   Sacrament fees are prorated according to the number of children for sacramental preparation in a family.  Those fees are as follows:
one child in a sacramental program                     $50.00

Two children                                                             $75.00

Three or more children                                           $100.00
